THESE Indian cities will be the first to get 5G services; is yours on the list?


5G services will be rolled out in India in a phased manner. Only 13 Indian cities will get this service in the first phase. Check if yours is the on the list.

5G services are going to be launched in India soon. The two big telecom companies, Reliance Jio and Airtel, will be the first to launch their 5G service by the end of this month, according to a Live Hindustan report. The Indian government will reportedly launch 5G on September 29 at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress (IMC). Reports suggest that 5G services will be rolled out in the country in a phase-wise manner and in the first phase, 13 Indian cities will get fast-speed internet service. Here is the list of cities that are going to start 5G service first:

Chandigarh

Chennai

Delhi

Gandhinagar

Gurugram

Hyderabad

Jamnagar

Kolkata

Lucknow

Mumbai

Pune

Though these cities will get 5G services in the first phase, it does not mean that everyone living in these cities will get access to 5G services. The telcos may offer access to 5G in selected areas of these cities. 5G services may take a longer time to reach everyone even in these cities too.

Meanwhile, the 5G spectrum allocation letters have already been sent to the service providers- – Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Adani Data Networks and Vodafone Idea.

A few days back on August 15, PM Modi spoke about 5G roll out during his Independence day speech. He said, “India’s techade is here! With 5G, semiconductor manufacturing and Optical Fiber Cable (OFCs) in villages, we are bringing a revolution through Digital India to the grassroots level.” He further said that the Digital India Movement along with the production of semiconductors, 5G networks and optical fiber network will improve education, health facilities, and bring positive change in a common man’s life.
