Amla-Ginger Soup For Immunity: Health Benefits Of Amla-Ginger Soup:

Helps Detox:

Both amla and ginger are storehouses of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help promote detoxification and prevent free radical damage in the body.

Promote Immunity:

Amla is a storehouse of vitamin C and ginger contains a compound called gingerol. Both nutrients come together to strengthen immunity and nourish us from within.

Promote Digestion:

This soup is great for digestion as well. The fibre in amla helps regulate bowel movements and gingerol (in ginger) benefits gastrointestinal motility, further strengthening gut health.

Boost Lung Health:

As we now know that amla and ginger are power-packed with health-benefitting properties, they are also known to help prevent lung-related issues, especially in people with asthma.

Promote Good Skin:

During the winter season, our skin goes dry and our lips get chapped. This is where nourishing foods come into play. The inclusion of healthy foods like amla and ginger (both enriched with vitamin C) in your diet may help prevent the dryness and moisturise your skin naturally.

How To Make Amla-Ginger Soup:

  • Pressure-cook three amlas and one-inch ginger in almost a cup of water. Add salt to taste and boil. Then, take out the amla, deseed them and mash well along with the boiled ginger. Keep the stock aside.
  • In a different mixer grinder, add green chillies, cumin, curry leaves and peppercorn and grind coarsely. Heat some ghee, and add hing, spice mix, haldi and ginger-amla mix.
  • Mix everything together, add the stock and boil well. You now enjoy the soup as is or strain it out to avoid the coarse masala bits.
