WhatsApp not working: WhatsApp has been unavailable for over an hour since 12PM on October 25 and it continues to stay the same for users. While users are facing inconvenience for the inability to send messages and make WhatsApp calls, Meta has finally come out with a statement explaining the same. Meta, which also owns Facebook, Instagram, and Oculus, has now come out with a statement to reassure that the company is taking action on the issue and will bring it back online soon.

In a statement to Reuters, a Meta spokesperson said, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.” Sadly, Meta hasn’t given any timeline behind this outage and is unable to furnish the reason why the world’s most popular messenger service is out today. As of publishing, we are still experiencing an outage of WhatsApp across the mobile app and the desktop client.

WhatsApp not working: What to do now

Not only WhatsApp app, but even the WhatsApp Web service is out. The WhatsApp Web interface shows  the “trying to reconnect” message. Since the messenger service is out and there is no timeline furnished on when we can expect it to work, here are some alternatives to send messages or communicate with your peers/ family/colleagues.

The easiest way to text your contacts is to reach out via SMS. SMS service on Jio, Vi and Airtel offer up to 100 free messages per day. However, you won’t be able to send multimedia files.

This is where you can use other messaging apps. You can use Telegram, Signal, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram messaging for the time being. If you use an iPhone and your contacts also use an iPhone, you can rely on Apple’s iMessage to reach out to your dear ones. For those working the Google Workspace, they can also use the built-in messaging service.
