Breaking: WhatsApp has gone down in India. The popular messaging app isn’t responding for several users, including us. Be it the WhatsApp app for iOS or Android, or the WhatsApp Web clients on PCs, the services is down nationwide. Downdetector.com currently shows almost 6000 complaints from various part of the country. The downtime started at around 12 PM IST and it is only spreading across at a very rapid pace.
WhatsApp is yet to specify any reason behind this outage, and so is Meta, its owner. Some users are also complaining of service outage of Instagram, although that is much lesser at this point and seems to be irrelevant.
