WhatsApp down today messages have flooded social media. In fact, WhatsApp outage sent Twitterati into virtual meltdown.

In what is a rare occurrence, the popular instant messaging app WhatsApp went down and it is still down even after 90 minutes, hindering communication across the world. With WhatsApp down today, users immediately took to Twitter to vent their frustrations over the disruption of service. The WhatsApp mobile app, desktop app, as well as the WhatsApp Web have all stopped working. HT Tech tried using all 3 apps and can confirm the same with an error message popping up, “Make sure your computer has an active internet connection”.

WhatsApp outage has been cofirmed across the world as users have reported receiving an error while using the messaging app.

Users immediately took to Twitter to vent their frustrations over not being able to use the messaging app. A Twitter user @GingerPower_ wrote, “When your WhatsApp is playing up but you come to Twitter and see that everyone else is having the same problem #WhatsAppDown.”

English YouTuber and rapper KSI wrote on twitter, “I think WhatsApp is down. I’ve now realised how much I rely on WhatsApp lmao.”

Initially people thought the disruption was due to their poor network but soon realized that everyone is facing the same error. One user @bramszn tweeted, “not me switching airplane mode on and off to refresh my network, without realizing that WhatsApp was down.” Even football clubs took to Twitter to share their frustrations. Real Madrid’s English Twitter account wrote, “When you come to @Twitter and realise that, yes, WhatsApp is down…”

According to a new report by Reuters, Meta has acknowledged the situation and is currently working on a fix. A WhatsApp spokeperson said, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”
