WhatsApp 100 minutes outage: Meta confirms the service is back and running but users can still face issues.

WhatsApp was down on October 25 for almost 100 minutes before Meta could bring it back to life. After acknowledging the issue and promising a fix for it, Meta has now brought back WhatsApp to life. We tested it ourselves and WhatsApp is now working normally as it was earlier this morning. Along with the app on iOS and Android, WhatsApp Web is also working normally now. You will be able to send text messages, make video calls, do voice chats, send files, and basically everything you use WhatsApp for.

Sadly, some users are still facing the issue and hence, you will need to wait patiently until the fix is rolled out widely. For most users in India though, WhatsApp is back online and you can continue to use it the way you do. Meta is yet to reveal the reason behind this severe outage that lasted for a long duration.

WhatsApp outage: It is working now

WhatsApp outage got a lot of backlash from users across India and the world. In India, WhatsApp is used as the de facto messaging service for both Android and iOS, and hence, it becomes a lifeline for today’s connected audience. WhatsApp, which is now owned by Meta, is one of the few messaging services that relies on end-to-end encryption for secure texting experience. It also brought in several privacy features such as disappearing messages, read receipts controls, and more.

That said, in case WhatsApp goes down again in the future, there are several alternatives to be used in those times. Telegram is a very popular service that offers more features than WhatsApp and is available on a lot of phones across the world. There are apps like Signal, Facebook Messenger, Instagram messages, and more. Additionally, the SMS is available to everyone, and iPhone users can rely on iMessage to do high quality chatting.
