If there is a street food that enjoys massive love among North Indians, it has to be chole kulche. The spicy chole and the fluffy kulchas is truly a match made in heaven. And, when relished with some freshly chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chillies, the experience gets even better. A cart of chole kulche is a common sight in almost every street of cities like Delhi. They all serve the same dish but with a slight variation. Some top up the kulchas with their special spices while others load the chole with butter. But have you ever heard of fruit chaat chole kulche? No, we are not making this up but a cart in Ghaziabad actually sells chole kulche that have fruits in it.

A food blogger recently shared a video of the unheard combination and we want you to see it. In the clip, uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘YourBrownFoodie’, the vendor first shows what all he offers at his small cart which includes cucumber, tomatoes, and onions salad along with raita. He then proceeds to prepare his special fruit chole kulche. The vendor begins by peeling and then cutting a couple of bananas and mixing the pieces with already prepared chole in a cauldron. Wait, banana is not the only fruit here.

After the bananas, the man cuts some apples and adds them to the chole before mixing everything well. Some spices also go into the chole including red chilli powder and chaat masala along with tamarind to make the chole tangy and spicy.

The chole are then served in small plates and topped up with some green chutney and salad while the kulche are cooked until golden brown. The vendor tells the blogger that the fruit chaat chole kulche has been pleasing foodies for thirty years. He said that his father had started the business and now he is trying to keep everyone’s heart happy.
