Viral Video: UK Man Makes Rajasthani Mirchi Vada; Impresses Internet

Indian food is popular all around the globe. From delectable snacks and curries to traditional Indian bread, desserts and more – there’s an endless list of dishes to try out there. While we all have a great fondness for Indian food, what we often ignore is the amount of effort that goes into making these yummy dishes. Indian cooking requires a whole lot of ingredients and patience to cook. And it becomes all the more interesting when other foreign nationals try to adapt to the Indian-cooking style. Recently, a video of a man from the United Kingdom making authentic Rajasthani mirchi vada went viral on the internet.

The video was shared by Instagram user Jake Dryan who goes by the handle @plantfuture. In the now-viral video, we can see him making Rajasthani mirchi vada from scratch and tasting it towards the end. What grabbed our attention is the way he mixes all the ingredients by hand instead of using a spoon or whisker. “Mirchi vada. Peppers stuffed with aloo masala and dipped in gram flour!” read the caption of the post. Take a look at the full video here:

The video has garnered over 9.1M views, 325K likes and thousands of comments (still counting). Instagram users from India were delighted with his cooking skills, and they showered praise in the comments section in huge numbers. Check out some of the reactions below:
