Government has lifted the ban on VLC Media Player that it slapped on it in February 2022.
In February 2022, the Central government banned VLC Media Player in India. However, the ban was a strange one. Instead of the mobile app or the software, only the website was banned and users could not visit the website to download the application. However, it was still available to download in the Google Play Store and the App Store. In fact, there was no official word from the government on the ban either.
