The much-awaited comedy crime web series, Killer Soup, is finally available to watch on Netflix. The series, directed by Abhishek Chaubey stars two critically acclaimed actors, Konkona Sen Sharma and Manoj Bajpayee. In one of Konkona’s latest Instagram posts, the pair are seen posing with a variety of scrumptious foods. The yummy spread is a reference to Sen’s character in the show: a cook who dreams of starting a restaurant. In the first photo, Konkona is seen sitting at a table filled with multiple plates. Some of the treats include burgers with potato wedges, multi-layered sandwiches, a tart, a cupcake, pastries, brownies and black coffee. A tall, tempting glass of what looks to be a chocolate cookie milkshake takes centre stage in front of Konkona.

In the next image, Manoj Bajpayee is featured alongside Konkona. We get a glimpse of the other indulgences on the table: spaghetti with meatballs and a cola drink. In the last image, a lip-smacking pizza is also visible. The dishes are placed on a classic, old-school red and white gingham tablecloth. But the cheery vibes and yumminess of the food are undercut by the dim lighting – the mixed signals aiming to reflect the eccentric essence of the series.

We couldn’t help but notice the table didn’t have a bowl of soup. Missed opportunity or deliberate choice? Perhaps the actual fun will be in watching rather than tasting, in this case. Are you going to tune in?
