And the day is here! Kantara is all set to make its OTT debut today, November 24 on Amazon Prime Video. The film has received lots of appreciation from the Kannada and Hindi speaking audiences and it can now be watched online anytime.
Amazon Prime Video informed about the same on Sunday by tweeting, “putting an end to all the wait!!! #KantaraOnPrime, out tomorrow.” It can be known that the movie has been made available on Prime Video today and can be watched now. Here are the details you need to know about the film Kantara.
Kantara storyline
The film received humongous success at the box office mainly due to its storyline and the way it has been portrayed on the screen. Rishab Shetty’s Kannada blockbuster is set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara follows a Kambala champion, played by Shetty, who comes to loggerheads with an upright forest range officer named Murali, who is played by Kishore.
Kambala is an annual race that is held from November to March in coastal Karnataka, in which a jockey drives a pair of buffaloes, tied to the plough, through parallel muddy tracks. The film also hit the headlines over the tribal tradition of Bhoota Kola and Shetty’s subsequent statements around it.
Bhoota Kola is a ritual performance where local spirits or deities are worshipped.
It can be known that the film was released in the Kannada version on September 30 followed by the release in Hindi version on October 14. As already stated Rishab Shetty is the director and writer of the film and has even acted in it. Other than Shetty, Kishore Kumar G and Sapthami Gowda, can be seen playing key roles in the film.
