Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a one-sided IPL 2024 match on Thursday. However, before the match, the toss for the game caught the attention of the fans on social media. Fans on social media accused match referee and former India pacer Javagal Srinath of changing the outcome of the toss, thus favouring the Mumbai Indians. Multiple users on social media platform X claimed that Srinath tampered with the coin by flipping the sides while picking it up.

However, the users received a reality check from another user, who shared a more clear view of the toss. The video indeed showed that Srinath didn’t flip the sides of the coin, but instead forgot the call made by the RCB captain Faf du Plessis.

“A clear Video of the toss…If You Still having doubt Either go to Eye Hospital or Mental hospital,” the video caption read.

MI won the game by 7 wickets after chasing a target of 197 in the 16th over.

Recapping the match, Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets to wreck RCB’s innings before two sharp fifties by Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav sealed MI’s second win of the campaign.

Bumrah’s figures of 5/21 won him the player-of-the-match award.

Earlier, RCB made 196-8 after MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to field first.

Speaking after the game, Bumrah said that the T20 format “is very harsh for the bowlers”.

“I try to not be a one-trick pony, I have worked on this early in my career. People start to line you up. I want to have different skills. I will never say I wanted to take a five-for. The wicket was sticky and I am very happy with my contribution,” he said.
