Street stalls in India are a vibrant and integral part of the country’s culinary landscape. They offer an assortment of delicious and affordable dishes that cater to the diverse taste buds of the population. In a remarkable case, a female bodybuilding champion ventured into the world of street food in India. Former bodybuilder,  Deepika, was in the process of preparing a burger with her assistant when food vlogger, Chahat Bhalla, approached her stall. Deepika narrated her journey, explaining how she had once claimed the title of a national champion but has since transitioned into a different career path. She is a three-time national bodybuilding champion and has found a unique path as she now operates a street food stall in PB10, Ludhiana. Her stall offers a variety of dishes, including chicken kebabs, mutton kebabs, and popcorn. Deepika also claimed to serve healthy diet food on her menu. However, she also indulges her patrons with the occasional cheat meal, providing a well-rounded culinary experience.

Meanwhile, people were sad to see a former champion running a street stall. A user wrote, “This is not something to be proud of, this shows the lack of opportunity, and carelessness for such a sport like bodybuilding, in India, we only know cricket that’s it but on the other hand no one talks about sports like bodybuilding and due to this she is now selling this on streets. There should be an awareness for all the sports and India should focus on selecting players and moving them forward for them and the country both.”

“How depressing to see a national level champion working in a food stall,” another comment read.

People have also shown support and encouragement for the former sportsperson, calling her an “Alpha female”.

“And a successful entrepreneur. Expecting your own food brand with more healthy recipes on the menu,” read a comment.

Another person mentioned that Deepika seemed to have a good understanding of macros and nutrition. “The fact that she’s selling popcorn for cheat meal shows that she’s got actual knowledge about macros and nutrition (popcorn is great when you’re on a cut),” he wrote.
