Google Drive storage will soon increase for Google Workspace individual users. Google drive storage will be expanded for free from 15GB to 1 TB.

Have you ever got the annoying “Storage is Full” error on Google Drive just as you’re about to save some important files? At present, Google allows 15GB of free storage space to Google Workspace individual users. Although 15GB is a decent amount of space, it can fill up very quickly as you back up your photos, files and documents. Although you can pay to upgrade the storage space, soon you won’t have to.

Google has announced in a blog that in an attempt to support users to expand their businesses, communicate, and collaborate more effectively, Google is now increasing the current 15GB free storage to 1TB. The blog read, “Soon every Google Workspace Individual account will come with 1 TB of secure cloud storage. You don’t have to lift a finger to get the upgraded storage: Every account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15 GB of storage to 1 TB as we roll this out.”

Google Drive is a safe place to store your documents with support of over 100 file types. You can store images, PDFs, PSD files, CAD files and more without any hassle or worry. Drive also comes with built-in protections against malware, spam and ransomware so users don’t have to worry about accidentally opening the door to malware just by opening a document.

At present, you can expand the 15GB free storage space by paying to upgrade. The plans start at Rs. 130 per month for 100GB storage. Higher storage plans include Rs. 210 per month for 200GB storage and Rs.650 per month for a hefty 2TB storage.

However, it only applies to Google Workspace users and not free users. Therefore, if you have a Google Workspace account, you could soon take advantage of the hefty 1TB storage space!

How to upgrade storage to 1TB storage on Google?

The storage expansion update will be done automatically without you having to lift a finger! Google will automatically upgrade the storage cloud data limit on every Google Workspace account from 15GB to 1TB. You can continue using the current service and you will have access to 1TB of storage to store files, documents, and other stuff without any extra charges.
