England stunned Team India with a marvelous win in the first Test on Sunday. The visitors edged past India by 28 runs on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad to take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. England got bundled out for 420, setting a target of 231 runs for India. Ollie Pope was the biggest contributor with his magnificent knock of 196 runs. Later, India could only manage to score 202 as debutant Tom Hartley broke the backbone of their batting line-up with his seven-wicket haul.
After the match, a video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) handle of England’s Barmy Army, showing Tom Hartley dancing on table in a bar.
In what seemed to be an old video, the left-arm spinner was seen merrily dancing by jumping on a table and holding a pint of beer. His celebration left all the fans amused.

After losing the first match, India skipper Rohit Sharma said that they failed as a team and the batting was not good enough in the fourth innings to register a victory.
“Hard to pinpoint where it went wrong. Having got a lead of 190, we thought we were very much in the batting. Exceptional batting, one of the best I have seen in Indian conditions by an overseas batter. We bowled in the right areas,” Rohit said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
“The bowlers executed the plans really well, you got to take your hat to Pope and say well played. Overall, we failed as a team. We didn’t bat well enough. I wanted them to take the game to the fifth day. The lower order fought really well there. You need to be brave enough, which I thought we weren’t,” he added.
The second Test of the five-match series will kick-start from February 2 in Visakhapatnam.
