Bhagyashree’s Chilka Moong Dal Khichdi Is Your One-Stop Solution For Acidity Or Constipation

Actor and nutritionist Bhagyashree is back with her culinary escapade. Bhagyashree’s food tips are a treat for every fitness enthusiast. What’s on the menu for Tuesday? Chilka moong dal khichdi. The recipe video posted on her Instagram handle begins with the actress saying that this dish is perfect to calm your stomach. She starts the cooking process by adding soaked chilka moong dal (split green gram) on top of rice in a pressure cooker. Then she adds spices like turmeric, and salt and tops it all with a spoonful of pure ghee. After adding three cups of water, you need to wait for three whistles and the fourth one on low flame. Voila! The easy-peasy khichdi recipe is ready. While the khichdi is cooking, Bhagyashree shares, “Be it acidity or constipation, khichdi calms your stomach. Chilka moong dal provides you with fibre, protein and vitamins.”

Sharing the clip, Bhagyashree detailed the benefits of the dish in the caption. The actress wrote, “I believe that the simple khichdi is the most effective home remedy for an upset stomach, apart from being my staple comfort food. It provides the body with protein for strength as well as nutrients to help recovery. Easy to digest, it is the ideal meal if you are unwell. This is a tip, probably all of us know but I have to emphasize the benefits of having this. Rice is easy to digest and provides much-needed energy when sick. The chilka moong dal is a protein but with goodness of fibre too. Haldi is an anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial. Salt is needed to help replenish body salts, especially if one has the loosies. Ghee creates a protective layer on the tender stomach lining to reduce the corrosive effect of stomach acids.”

Earlier, Bhagyashree treated fans to the “chatpata” kala chana recipe. The actress begins the video by saying, “Aaj bada mann kiya.. kuch mirch masale ki chatpati cheez khaye.. lekin jo swadisht hone ke saath saath healthy bhi ho [Today, I had a craving for something spicy, which is healthy as well].” To make this recipe, first you need to take soaked chana. The cooking process begins by heating one tablespoon of ghee and adding jeera and hing to it. Then you need to saute the chana in it.
