WhatsApp Channels may get new upgrades! Check benefits

[ad_1]

Meta-owned platform WhatsApp introduced the new Channels features to the app in September. The new Channels space is being utilized by users to share updates, advertisements, news and more. Now, after a few weeks, the company is planning to bring new features to the WhatsApp Channels for better user interaction and engagement. If you are someone who is frequently using WhatsApp Channels to stay updated, then check out what new features the messaging app will introduce.

WhatsApp Channel’s new features

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Channel may be developing or testing new voice messages and sticker features. However, the feature is under development and has not been released as part of beta testing yet but it may be released in the future app update. The source reported that these features were spotted in the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.23.23.2 update.

If these new features make it to the app in future then this will give admins more control over communicating with their audience and it will provide a better way to engage with channel followers. This will also attract new followers or audiences making it more interesting. Furthermore, Meta is giving WhatsApp channel admins a new way to see how their contacts are interacting with their channel updates. Now, a new contacts tab in the reaction sheet will show admins which of their contacts reacted to an update with an emoji. This feature is not available to regular subscribers, who can only see the number of reactions for each emoji. This feature will enable admins to improve the quality and type of content they share on a regular basis. The new contact tab is now in beta testing and it will soon be made available to all the users.

Meta is now putting a lot of attention to its messaging app WhatsApp and is working on diversifying the app’s usage. Bringing features to Channels could be a step ahead to improving its app’s performance and attracting more active users.
