First make sugar syrup. Boil sugar and water together and add Turkish essence – orange blossom water. If you don’t have it, you can substitute it with rose water or kewra essence. Add lime juice in the end. Let it cool down.

Then make nut powder. Use any nut – walnut, almond, pistachios etc. This recipe uses walnuts. Grind it with sugar to make coarse powder. Then take a glass baking dish and brush butter all over the insides. Take store-bought filo pastry sheets, cut them in the shape of the baking dish. Divide them into parts – 11-12 layers in each set. Place one set on the bottom of the dish. Spread nut mixture over it and cover with the rest of the sheets. Now cut them all together in diamond shapes. Pour melted butter over it and bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Pour the cooled down sugar syrup. Let it rest 15-20 minutes for it to absorb the syrup. Garnish with rose petals and pistachios.
