The art of cake-making has transcended traditional boundaries and has come to symbolise much more than just a sweet treat. Today, cakes are more than mere desserts; they have become a canvas for creativity and expression. From the most beautiful and heartwarming occasions to the cheekiest, cakes have emerged as a unique form of edible art. In a recent celebration honouring a dermal therapist, a cake was presented that resembled human skin. The cake’s design was particularly intricate, with distinct layers representing different aspects of the skin. The bottom layer was crafted to resemble skin cells, while the middle layer bore a striking resemblance to red and blue veins. The top layer, akin to the outermost layer of the skin, featured realistic depictions of acne. Remarkably, the cake even had a surprising element: the acne could be “popped” to release a cream-like filling, eerily like the pus that oozes out when dealing with pimples on the actual human skin. Dr. Michael, the dermatologist, went on to lick the “pus” that oozed out after he popped the pimples on the cake.

However, the cake has sparked controversy on the internet, with some people finding it disturbing and describing it as “nasty.” “As much as I like watching when they do it on people, I will never eat that cake that looks nasty,” one comment read on Instagram. One user said, “Sorry, it’s too disgusting to eat.” Someone else wrote, “Can’t watch, too gross.” Another user quipped, “Never been so grossed out.” “Omg, when he licked it (puke emoji),” another comment read.
