Who Invented Kachori?

It is believed that kachori was first invented by the Marwadi community. For the unversed, Marwad is a region in southwestern Rajasthan. Being a major trade route in earlier times, it is said that kachori was invented to give a snack to the traders who passed through this route.

How Many Calories Are There In A Kachori?

This would vary depending on the way you cook the kachori. If you use the traditional deep-frying method, the kachori will naturally have a high calorie count. A regular-sized kachori can have anywhere between 200 and 300 calories. This air fryer version of it reduces the calorie count by a significant amount.

How To Ensure Your Kachori Remains Crispy For Long?

Firstly, remember to always place the kachoris evenly in the air fryer basket. If you put too many together at once, they can end up sticking together. Make sure to flip them in between so as to ensure even cooking. While it’s best to have them immediately, if not, always store them in an airtight container to prevent them from becoming soggy.

Start by preparing the dough for the air fryer kachori. Add maida, salt, oil, and vinegar to a bowl and mix well. Gradually add water and combine everything together to form a smooth dough. Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover it with a wet cloth, and let it rest for 30 minutes. For the filling, heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions to it. Saute until they turn golden brown, and then add all the dry masalas. Roast for a few seconds before adding in the besan. Now, add the matar and salt and cook again for a minute. Take off the heat and mash the mixture with the back of a spoon. Divide the dough into equal-sized portions and roll them out using a rolling pin.
