Viral: This Artist’s Realistic Food Paintings Are A Hit With Food Lovers

For some people, food is just a means of sustenance or survival. They consume their three-square meals and it is just a regular part of their day. However, for other people it is not just a regular thing but a passion in itself. For an artist couple based in Pune, the zest for food has taken a new form – that of realistic food paintings. Rucha and Chaitanya, also known as @ruandchai on Instagram are making stunning paintings with food as the main focus. Their creations have been going viral on social media for quite some time now. Take a look at their latest viral video:

In the clip, we could see four different dishes kept in the frame – pav bhaji, dosa, appam and uttapam. “Which one is real,” asked the couple in the caption of the post. It turned out that the uttapam was the only real food item in frame and the remaining three dishes were actually paintings! The realistic food painting video has received over 801k views and 19k likes.

These are not the only realistic food paintings shared by the handle. Previously, they have painted foods like filter coffee, dosa with sambhar and chutney, modaks, and even pizza, and shared the videos on their Instagram handle. Take a look:

According to the captions of the posts, the artist Rucha first eats the food item she wants to paint to carry out her ‘research’ into the food item. Then, she uses a canvas and paints the food item in the desired shape. Lastly, a layer of varnish is added and the paintings are ready to be hung on the walls!

The amazing detailing in the realistic food paintings has amazed not just foodies, but also artists. “I thought it was real… Fantastic artwork dear,” wrote one user while another said, “There is lot of life in your paintings!
