Tumsar-Mohadi: A Repeat of History!

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India] November 14: Bhandara district, known for its rich network of lakes, leads the state in rice cultivation. Among its key contributors, Tumsar stands out as a treasure for the nation, serving as a renowned rice depot with a self-sufficient market. While Tumsar has thrived as a commercial hub, the Tumsar-Mohadi constituency has long awaited significant developmental strides due to political maneuvering and a fixation on personal gain over public service. For years, the local population endured unfulfilled promises and stagnation. Frustrated by this cycle, the people resolved to find a leader among themselves—a representative of the common man. This aspiration took shape through Raju Karemore, who emerged as a beacon of change, holding the people’s trust as both a dedicated MLA and their “Raju Bhau.”

Raju Karemore’s tenure has been marked by an unwavering commitment to public welfare. He has consistently worked to address the challenges faced by citizens, often prioritizing their needs over bureaucratic hurdles. From personally assisting citizens during floods and crises to organizing relief and health camps, Karemore has earned the genuine respect and admiration of his constituents. As the election season heats up, much attention is on Karemore’s grassroots campaign, which focuses on building meaningful connections with the people rather than engaging in traditional, hollow rhetoric. Analysts agree that his direct engagement with citizens may give him a unique advantage in the upcoming elections.

Karemore’s record speaks for itself in key areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, education, and strengthening administrative systems. Under his leadership, Tumsar’s sub-district hospital capacity expanded from 100 to 200 beds with ₹200 crore sanctioned for facility upgrades. Similarly, Mohadi’s rural hospital received sub-district status with ₹100 crore in allocated funds. His efforts extended to Verthi, where a rural hospital was established with a ₹50 crore budget. During the COVID-19 crisis, Karemore’s management prevented oxygen shortages, distributed ration kits, cylinders, and vegetables, ensuring essential aid reached every household. Over 51 health camps were organized, offering free check-ups and medical treatments, and he plans to build more hospitals and introduce blood banks in the region.

Infrastructure has been a cornerstone of Karemore’s agenda. Recognizing that quality roads are the backbone of local development, he has secured ₹19 crore for widening and upgrading State Highway 355 in Varathi and initiated several other road improvements across Mohadi Taluka. From revamping the Roha-Mundhari road bridge over the Sur River with ₹80 crore to obtaining ₹100 crore for the bridge near Bavanghatli river, Karemore has demonstrated a strategic approach to infrastructure development. The construction of the Ramtek-Gondia state highway and other pivotal roads showcases his knack for securing substantial state-level funds for major projects.

In education, Karemore’s initiatives have been equally noteworthy. He championed the construction of a residential hostel in Tumsar for ₹15 crore and secured ₹10 crore for an Adivasi hostel, ensuring educational support for marginalized communities. He has also played a pivotal role in building new administrative offices, enhancing local governance through investments of ₹20 crore for new tehsil office buildings, and ₹10 crore for a modern police station.

Water supply and irrigation have been vital to Karemore’s vision. Reviving the Sorna Dam project addressed both drinking water scarcity and agricultural irrigation needs. Karemore also distributed essential kits to laborers and provided technology tools to their children to promote digital literacy. Through his efforts, over 150 community halls have been built, serving as hubs for cultural, social, and religious gatherings across the constituency.

Karemore’s commitment extends to empowering farmers by improving rural roads, facilitating access to markets, and creating fair grain purchase centers. This has ended the exploitation of farmers by middlemen and ensured direct, beneficial transactions. Additionally, he has worked tirelessly to enhance women’s empowerment through self-help groups, providing support structures and opportunities for economic independence. Over 35 libraries have been established, with plans for 200 more reading centers to support student development.

Karemore’s focus on comprehensive development has also seen the introduction of robust water supply schemes, advanced sewerage projects, and a ring road to enhance urban infrastructure in Tumsar and Mohadi. By nurturing harmony through religious and social initiatives, such as building Buddhist viharas, he has further strengthened community bonds.

Driven by a commitment to public service, Karemore’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of the Tumsar-Mohadi residents sets him apart as a visionary leader. His developmental achievements reflect not just a promise but a proven capacity for progress, and as citizens rally behind him for the upcoming elections, his vision of a prosperous Tumsar-Mohadi continues to inspire trust and hope for a brighter future.
