What is your idea for a perfect date night? To take your special someone to a fine dining restaurant or candlelight set up at home. Well, for a couple it was a game night but with a twist. Leaving behind a trail of “date night inspiration,” a video, which is going viral, shows the couple playing chess with their favourite sushi. Are you grinning, already? Wait till you see the clip. In the video, the lovebirds can be seen seated across each other with 32 different pieces of sushis placed on top of a chessboard. The video begins with the two using chopsticks to move their sushis, when it’s their turn. The clip also shows a bowl of soy sauce kept next to their “preferred drink”. So every time one of them attempts a check mate they can relish the sushi that goes out of the board. The text attached to the clip reads, “Save for your next date night!! I got the Sushi pre-made from Kroger. You will need 32 pieces total, I got an assorted pack and then set them up for a chess game for what each piece looked like! Definitely grab your preferred drink plus two bowls of soy sauce! And don’t forget the chopsticks!! This made for such a fun birthday night date and we will definitely be doing it again.”
The video grabbed countless reactions from the internet. Several users claimed that constant picking and dropping the sushis in different positions would ruin them completely. A comment read, “The way my Knights would be ruined from picking them up and putting them back down.”
Some even said that the idea is “cute”, as a person said, “How fun and super cute”.
A user pointed out that this idea would only feed the winner of the game, while the other one would end up hungry. “Great, now I’m hungry and he’s stuffed.”
Many people who didn’t know how to play chess claimed that they would end up hungry at the end, as a user commented, “I’m afraid I would hardly get any!”
Another said, “I actually love this except I’m chess illiterate so I’d have to play checkers, and eat the sushi “checkers” as you jump them lol.”
As most of the sushis on each side looked similar, a few claimed, “The way I would forget which pawns were mine.”
“Okay but what am I gonna do if someone promotes a pawn to a queen? Get more sushi?” wrote a person.
Would you try this concept on your next date? So far the clip has been played nearly four million times.
