After WhatsApp just a few days ago, it is the turn of Instagram to be down. Some Instagram users have complained of their accounts being suspended. And this has happened on the scariest day of the year- Halloween. Panicked users rushed to Twitter to share their experiences while reporting that they are unable to log in to their Instagram accounts and have received an alarming message that their account is no longer operational. “We suspended your account on August 31. There are 30 days remaining to disagree with this decision,” a screenshot shared by Twitter user Jenny Garbis reads. The complaint seems to resonate with thousands of other users who too faced login problems with their Instagram accounts.
DownDetector, which shows a chart indicating the cases of Instagram outages reported in the last 24 hours, indicated that these peaked around 8PM today. The chart shows a view of problems reported by users in the past 24 hours. Most Instagram down messages by users had to do with login difficulties, which was 74 percent of the cases. While 16 percent of users faced a problem with the Instagram app.
Instagram confirmed the outage and assured users that “We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience. #instagramdown”
Meanwhile, some other users complained about losing access to their accounts. One of the users wrote, “My account was suspended for over a month – and your ‘appeal’ form is a joke because no one replies, not to mention you have no customer service team in place to help with these issues. Yet you’re the one who suspended my account for NO REASON in the first place? Sort it out.”
The pop-up message of suspension of Instagram account also provides an option to click on a blue alert box if they disagree with the decision of Instagram. This asked users to a request review page.
