Yes! You can definitely use ghee instead of butter while baking cakes. The only difference that you can spot between the two is the outcome of the cake. The desserts made with ghee have a crispier exterior as compared to those prepared with butter. This is because ghee is made by removing milk solids and the majority of water from butterfat.

How To Make Ghee Cake At Home: Recipe To Make Ghee Cake

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Then grease two 8-inch cake pans. In a bowl, take ghee, vanilla extract, and sugar and beat them together until they are light and fluffy. Then add eggs, one at a time, and keep beating the batter after each addition.

In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Now add this to the ghee mixture, along with milk. Mix all the ingredients well so that they are well combined and become a thick batter.

Now pour this batter into the greased cake pans and smooth its top with a spatula. Bake the ghee cake for about 30-35 minutes. Make sure to check it in intervals by inserting a toothpick into the centre. If it comes out clean, it’s done.

Allow the cake to cool off for 10-15 minutes. Then gently transfer it to a wire rack. Once cooled, scrape off the top and bottom of the cake loaf to get a smooth texture. Sprinkle some powdered sugar, and voila, your Ghee cake is ready to serve!
