Twitter Blue is rolling out in India and it will cost more than in the US. Here are the details you need to know.

From the very first day Tesla CEO Elon Musk took control of Twitter, he has been making several changes to the social networking platform. One of the changes included the Twitter Blue paid subscription – that is, you will now have to pay for getting Blue verified tick on Twitter. The paid subscription for Twitter Blue has now started rolling out in India and is set to cost Rs. 719 per month. Informing about the same, some Twitter users in India have shared images of the prompts received for Twitter Blue subscription.

“Some people in India have started receiving Twitter Blue access at 719 per month ($8.88 to be exact lol),” one of the Twitter user named Trendulkar (@Trendulkar) tweeted. As per the information shared, it can be said that the price one needs to pay for Twitter Blue in India is higher than that in the United States. It can be known that earlier Musk had said that the price will be adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity.

Also, till now, only a few Twitter users have received the prompts. Earlier this month, Musk had said that the Twitter Blue is expected to roll out in India in less than a month. It was also informed that the Twitter Blue subscribers will get priority in replies, mentions and search; ability to post long video and audio; and more.

Twitter had also started labelling the Twitter account of famous personalities ‘official’ ahead of the roll-out of blue tick subscriptions across India. However, soon after its roll out, the feature was stopped in response to a tweet from YouTuber Marques Brownlee about the ‘Official’ badge, to which Musk replied, “I just killed it.”

Musk on Friday also informed that Twitter accounts doing parody impersonations must include ‘parody’ in their name and not just in bio. “Going forward, accounts engaged in parody must include “parody” in their name, not just in bio,” the tweet read.
