In a candid chat, Subhayu reveals more about the creative process and also about his offthe camera personality.
Q1) Are you a gatherer or a hunter?
I think …I would call myself as gatherer as I give strong attention to details. Being a gatherer-a
multi-tasker I focus on the big picture while taking care of wide variety of tasks.
Q2) What was the last gift you gave someone?
I don’t exactly remember, but I guess I gifted perfume to one of my friends.
Q3) If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into your room for the rest of
your life, which song would that be?
“Main rahoon ya na rahoon” – Armaan Malik, Amaal Mallik. I feel connected with this song.
Q4) What fictional character do you identify with the most and why?
Well, with Joker, because though Joker was portrayed as a manipulative supervillain, he was
basically a smart planner, confident person, brilliant chemist and most importantly, he was
Q5) Which 2 items would you take with you if you shipwrecked on a deserted island where
all your food and water needs were taken care of?
I am a total coffeeholic… So a bag of Coffee and solar powered laptop is sufficient for me to
survive. The laptop would keep me connected with my work and coffee would keep me
Q6) What do you think about when you are alone in the car?
I am basically a thinker and that too totally devoted to work. So whenever I am alone in the car one
thing that keeps me engaged is my story. What would be the story of my next project!
Q7) What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon like?
Sunday is a dedicated family time for me. Spending quality time with my family or friends on
Sundays acts like a booster dose to help me face hustle bustle of Monday through Saturday.
Q8) What do you do when you are not directing?
I love e-gaming, playing counter strike and photography.
Q9) Tell us something about the projects you are currently working on?
Currently I am working on 3 Projects – NAIRA, SILBON and Perfect Alibi (Working Title)
Q10) What do you think will the audience think while they drive back home after watching the
WOMAN power, don’t push a female to her limits. When women are protective they can go up
to any extent. She can play A MOM, A SISTER, A GIRLFRIEND, and A WIFE and LOVE
everything at the same time. Currently we see representation of strong female characters which
is a reflection of changing role of women in Indian society.
Q11) If someone was going to make your life into a movie, which actor would you like to play
I would go for AKSHAY KHANNA
