Among the headline indices, the S&P BSE Sensex zoomed 500 points to 51,300 levels and the Nifty50 index reclaimed the 15,100-mark. Axis Bank rose 3 per cent and was the top Sensex gainer after the Irdai gave its approval for the acquisition of up to 12 per cent stake in Max Life Insurance by the bank and its subsidiaries. Max Financial, meanwhile, rallied 10 per cent in intra-day deals.
The Nifty sectoral indices were painted green, with Nifty Private Bank index, up 2 per cent, leading the way.

Shares of home healthcare and wellness products provider Nureca will list at the bourses today. The company’s Rs 100 crore public issue was subscribed nearly 40 times. The category for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) was subscribed 3.10 times, non-institutional investors 31.59 times and retail individual investors (RIIs) 166.65 times.
