Historic! Apple does a first, releases iOS16.0.1 for iPhone 14 even before sales start


Apple is rolling out an iOS16.0.1 update for the new iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to fix bugs. Check all details here

Apple has released iOS 16.0.1 exclusively for the new iPhone 14 models just a few days after iOS 16 was released to all users on Monday. The new iPhone 14 lineup will be shipping with a version of iOS 16.0 that predates the official build (20A362). However, the new update (build number 20A371) comes with even more bug fixes for iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Notably, Apple has never released a software upgrade so early in the life cycle of an iPhone series.

Amazingly, this is happening even as the iPhone 14 sales have not even started. In fact, the phones will be available for sale from tomorrow, September 16 onwards and users will reportedly be prompted to skip straight to iOS 16.0.1. Changes and bug fixes brought by iOS 16.0.1

Apple iOS 16.0.1, the latest update would fix bugs that could affect the activation and migration of the new iPhones. It will also fix issues related to enterprise apps and with the Photos app. “This update is recommended for all users and provides important bug fixes for your iPhone including the following,” reads the statement. It explained that the iOS 16.0.1 will fix an issue with activation and migration during the setup of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Do note that iOS can detect and prompt users to install any system updates during the first setup and hence, if you’ll be getting an iPhone 14, you will get notification to install iOS 16.0.1 to avoid any major issues before even setting up the new phone.
